Well it’s a lot that comes to someone’s minds when we talk about country music be it old or modern. Yes we all know country music originated from America but that doesn’t mean it should be listened within their circle. Back here in Africa artists like Jim Reeves, Don Williams, Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton and Alan Jackson were most popular to listeners back in the days of our grandpas and fathers. It was hard to access music here in Uganda and there’s a notable one by names of Kasiwukira would travel to different countries i.e. South Africa, United Kingdom to purchase different genres of music and lucky enough country was part of it. Currently media has played a bigger role in terms of accessibility say YouTube. No more long distances to access the music you need or listen to. Our parents grew up listening traditional country form early 1920s to Early 1990s. A lot has happened since late 1990s to 2010s, music genres haves been modernized or popularized {for example Tim McGraw, Garth Brooks, Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan, Taylor Swift}. But whatever it could be it’s the genre that folks can give more time or attention. Everyone has a story to share at the end of the day and we’ve interacted with some of cowboys and cowgals in Uganda, it’s a lot that has been shared in one of the interviews from previous events we have had

To Me Country music Just speaks about real life, honesty, sincerity and about truth and it tells things how they really are, When a country song plays it touches me in so many ways, it triggers “Instant Recall” of a past event or experience.
When i listen to country music , It gives me hope that remains when all else is gone, It something that speaks to me through the heart. Songs about real life, along with the ups and downs everyone’s faces at some point or another. It’s something u listen, hold and never let to go. It’s the only Genre that i listen to

Country Vocals is a Ugandan base majorly country band started in December 2012 by 4 friends Robert, Ezra, Isaac & Enoch. It initially started as an all boy’s country gospel acapela groups but has over the years evolved to a full recording band currently standing at 9 members namely.
